For several years we have been feeding our dogs Flint River Ranch dog food, this will open another page to their website. This is a twice-baked biscuit that is then broken into kibble-sized pieces. Oven-baking changes hard to digest starches into easy to digest Dextrins, which are readily absorbed into your dog’s system. The secret to good nutrition is not how many nutrients are present in a dog’s food, but rather how available they are and how efficiently they can be utilized when digested. There are no artificial preservatives. The good value is baked-in, not sprayed on. Because the kibble is high density you feed 20%-25% less than other foods. Each serving delivers maximum nutrition without fillers, so you’ll also notice a lower stool volume and less clean-up. Because you feed less Flint River Ranch is ultimately less expensive than other foods costing less..

The chicken and the lamb formulas are made with rice and wheat. Ordinary dog foods are made with corn. Rice and wheat are easier to digest than corn. The food is processed in as sanitary manner as if it were for human consumption and there are no sprayed on additives or greasy coating to make the taste acceptable to your dog. Ordinary dog foods are extruded under high pressure and extreme temperatures and then sprayed with fat and other products in order to encourage dogs to eat.

Also important to Bichon-owners, especially, is the fact that there are no by-products used in the preparation of this food. By-products are chicken feet, chicken heads, duck heads, beaks, feathers, fish heads, hides, hoofs and intestines. There are also no breakfast food by-products such as corn, corn cobs, cottonseed, citrus pulp, soy beans, fillers and no screening or other foreign materials such as noxious weeds, straw, hulls or chaff in this product. All of these by-products can cause skin allergies in Bichons. Most brands of dog food include some of these by-products and chemical preservatives which may be associated with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health and degenerative organ dysfunction. Another important fact is that there are no chemical preservatives, no Ethoxyquin, BHA or BHT in Flint River Ranch food.

We have attended many seminars and read many articles on feeding our dogs and this food is consistently among the top ten foods recommended by the speakers at the seminars and also by the authors of the articles in the newsletters we subscribe to.

Most importantly, our dogs have done very well on this food. When I was first given samples for them to try, they were as anxious as if I were giving them treats. We decided to order some and see how they did. That was about 15 years ago. They are still doing well and look forward to meal times. We are currently feeding the DOG 40. (The 40 refers to the 40 pound bag). They also have a 20 pound bag and a 6 pound bag available. If you prefer to feed Lamb and Rice, that is also available.

After your order has been placed, it will be shipped to you via UPS and should arrive within 3-5 days.

Note: When introducing a new dog food to your pet, be sure to do it gradually so it is not a shock to your dogs digestive system.

When our puppies leave home they are eating Flint River Ranch food so new parents are instructed to purchase this food prior to coming to pick up their puppy. When our puppies leave home they are eating approximately ¼ cup three times a day. As they get older we gradually eliminate the noon feeding and feed a little more at both morning and night. Presently we are feeding our dogs ½ cup in the morning and 1/3 cup at night. That seems to keep them at the optimal weight. Be sure to keep plenty of fresh water available for your pet throughout the day.
